Dr. No - Closing Sequence

Setting: Bond and Honey Ryder are on a small boat, having just escaped Dr. No's laboratory.

James Bond (Checking the gauge): We've run out of fuel.
Honey Ryder: What are we going to do now?
James Bond: Well, we can swim, or, er...
Honey Ryder: Or what?
James Bond: Come here.
(Honey Ryder moves in toward him. In the background, a navy vessel approaches with Felix Leiter on it)
Felix Leiter: Ahoy, Mr Bond! Ahoy, Mr Bond!
James Bond: Well, well! What's the matter? Do you need help?
Felix Leiter: I'm quite sure you don't.
James Bond: Now that you're here, you'd better give us a tow.
Felix Leiter: Throw us your line.
(James Bond and Honey Ryder remain on the small boat and kiss. As they do so, Bond releases the tow line...)

Dr. No - Meeting Honey Ryder for the first time

Setting: Dr. No's private island, on the beach.

(Bond sees Honey Ryder exiting the sea, examining her shells. He interrupts her singing)

Honey Ryder: Who is that?
James Bond: It's all right. I'm not supposed to be here, either. I take it you're not. Are you alone?
Honey Ryder: What are you doing here? Looking for shells?
James Bond: No. I'm just looking.
Honey Ryder: Stay where you are.
James Bond: I promise I won't steal your shells.
Honey Ryder: I promise you you won't, either.
(Bond steps forward. Honey Ryder reaches for her knife)
Honey Ryder: Stay where you are!
James Bond: I can assure you, my intentions are strictly honourable.
(She walks along the beach, away from Bond. Bond catches up and walks alongside her)
James Bond: What's your name?
Honey Ryder: Ryder.
James Bond: Ryder what?
Honey Ryder: Honey... Ryder.
(Bond looks at her in disbelief, and tries to hold back a smile)
Honey Ryder: What's so funny about it?
James Bond: Nothing. It's a very pretty name.
Honey Ryder: What's your name?
James Bond: James.

James Bond: I have no objections.
Croupier: Pas possible, madame. Ce n'est pas légal.
Sylvia Trench: Now...
Croupier: C'est suivi, monsieur.
James Bond (Holding her gaze): Looks like you're out to get me.
Sylvia Trench: It's an idea, at that.
Sylvia Trench: Eight.

(A waiter interrupts Bond and presents him with a card)
Waiter: Excuse me, sir.
James Bond: Thank you. André, I must pass the shoe.
James Bond (To Sylvia): I hope you'll forgive me, but it's most important. Thank you.
James Bond (Passing his chips to the Croupier): Have those changed, will you?
Sylvia Trench (Walking with Bond): Too bad you have to go. Just as things were getting interesting.
James Bond: Yes... Tell me, Miss Trench, do you play any other games? I mean, besides chemin-de-fer?
Sylvia Trench: Hmm. Golf... amongst other things.
James Bond: Tomorrow afternoon, then.
Sylvia Trench (Surprised): Tomorrow? Let me see...
James Bond: And, uh, we could have dinner afterwards, perhaps?
Sylvia Trench: Sounds tempting. May l, um, let you know in the morning?
James Bond: Splendid.
(Bond hands her a business card)
James Bond: My number's on the card.
(Sylvia watches him leave)
